what's toki pona?

return

I'm quite into Toki Pona, so I've gotten a lot of people asking me what it is. And I hate explaining.

Intro

Toki Pona 󱥬󱦖󱥔 is a constructed language made by Sonja Lang (They go by many names, as of 10 Jun 2026, the preferred name is Amatuallah.), first shown to the public in 2001, and was packaged into a little book form (Toki Pona: The Language of Good) in May 2014. Essentially, there's 120-ish words that are used in the language. Some are words, some are for grammar, and all these words can be used to talk about pretty much anything you'd want.

Why?

Look, I get it. Who would want to learn a conlang? But with a language so small, at this point, why not? You'll get to meet many other people, who probably have the same interests as you do! You could even use the language on your own time, and really think about what something is. A car could be a moving house, sure, but what about a moving brick? It's definitely rigid.

I want to know more!

Sure! You can find more stuff about Toki Pona on tokipona.net.

See you again! And till we do, 󱥄󱤶󱤉󱤔󱦖󱥔!
